I awoke very early this morning, words overflowing, thoughts and ideas running about in my mind. I was planning on writing an entry, but when I tried to visit my web log, I found that my server was down. I upgraded Apache yesterday because of a potential security problem. Apparently, I botched the upgrade and didn’t restart the server properly. So, this morning, instead of writing some pithy new entry, I put some Dire Straits on the mp3 player and started reconfiguring my web server, then restarted it. So, random ruminations is now back up and running.
There are benefits to being one’s own web server and system administrator. Then again, there are pitfalls as well. I’ve been running linux for about eight years now (since RedHat 2.0 I think). I’m still learning new things. Maybe one of these days I’ll be a real sysadmin!
That would qualify as an “oops,&rdquo I suppose, huh? Grins…
