Here we go!

  1. The dihydrogen monoxide spoof is great!

As for the reasonable voice, well it appears that reasonable has lost out to sensational here in the US. While I’m skeptical about the simplistic contentions of the “global warming/greenhouse gases” hysteria, I’m convinced that we have localized effects. I’m very much afraid of the localized climate changes here in West Texas due to “wind farms”. Ten bucks says it gets more arid and they blame it on CO2.

  2. I see the sensationalization of news all the time. It’s the reason we see so little good news. The morbid fascination is alive and well in each of us. There is something instinctive about us gathering about to watch something die. I don’t know why that is, but it is.

With regard to your last assertion, I believe you’re correct. However, 50 bucks says you’ll not be able to detect (statistically) the difference over the remainder of our lifetimes. If you want that money, let me know and I’ll put it in escrow so you can collect after I die. <very wicked grin>
