For this week, I bring you…

  1. (with respect to the four-corners monument)Well, it kinda depends on what you mean by “the wrong place”. It is apparently NOT at the intended lat/long conjunction, but by legal boundary survey principles of monumentation, it IS at the common corner of those four states. Natural monuments take precedence over manmade monuments, manmade monuments over calls for location, etc. Once the monument was placed, it became the true location of the corner. To bad it was so far off of the intended location.

  2. You are correct… It is where it is, which is where it was placed. It is not at the intended location, but that also happens all the time. :)
