Starbucks Boycott?

Posted Tue Feb 14, 2012 in

I guess I’m going to Starbucks at least once today. I read that there is a planned boycott of Starbucks simply because they don’t ban the legal carry of firearms in their stores.

This is a wise policy because legally-armed citizens are not a problem. They are responsible individuals who spend the required time and resources to qualify for a carry permit.

That other individuals who pale at the sight of, or even thought, of someone carrying a firearm in a responsible fashion takes exception to this is acceptable because that is a core value of Americans. I disagree and to compensate for any lack of business to Starbucks because of their sane policy of allowing legal carrying of firearms in their stores, I will be going to one of their stores today to get a coffee and a treat at least once.

Maybe I’ll drop by for my afternoon break as well. A good coffee in the middle of the afternoon and a brownie will be a welcome treat.

The term “sane gun laws” is a euphemism for “no guns.” Don’t try to baffle me with bullshit. It won’t work.

Thanks, Starbucks management, for being reasonable.

  1. Glad you are on the right side of this argument! It baffles me that some “Americans” don’t understand the importance of self-defense.

  2. Self defense, freedom of assembly, freedom of speech, limited search and seizure, due process, freedom of religion… These things are all valuable. They are the hingepin of this country. The Founding Fathers would be ashamed of what we’ve become.
