More Things Off the ToDo List

It’s been a pretty good day so far. I met with one of my graduate students this morning and got him lined out on what I want him to work on for the next week or so. I got most of a new assignment prepared. I found the problem with my gallery of images and fixed it. The new installation of RHCL is working. I updated the kernel and a bunch of other software packages this morning, including installing my LaTeX typesetting system. I finished a couple of recommendation letters for a student. It was just one of those days to get some details done.

Tonight I’m playing for a Wednesday evening communion servic. It’s the first time I’ve played in months. The set list is put together and I’m ready. I think it will be fun.

Much of my administrivia is now done. I finished up a six-year review and my annual review yesterday. Tomorrow I should be able to tackle some larger jobs and get a couple of papers I’m working on moved ahead. I need those papers. I want to make full professor before I retire.

  1. There are others who want to see you make full professor, too. If recommendations from former grad students and long-term professional colleagues are of any value, you know where to turn. If anyone deserves it, you do. — Dazed & Confused    5 February 2003, 12:26    #

  2. I appreciate the offer and it will come some day. At that time I'll be polling my students and colleagues for letters of recommendation. You're on the list. ;) ruminator    8 February 2003, 07:34    #
