I decided just to call these (mostly) weekly posts Links instead of Linkfests. I guess I’m no longer feeling festive…
This essay on the impending demise of bricks-and-mortar bookstores is interesting. I don’t know whether I buy it (pun intended) completely, but the analysis is interesting.
TexTouch seems like a very interesting application. Take a look at the client-server relation.
The iPhone Controversy really is much ado about nothing… with the exception of the marketing nightmare created by Apple and not addressed.
David McCullough understands history. Those who do not understand history are doomed to repeat it.
A Good eReader is an interested concept for purchasing ebooks. It’s worth checking out.
USA.gov has a set of mobile applications that are interesting for mobile-‘net users.
I prefer open-world games. The article has a list of a few relatively new open-world games. Cool…
I read a report that reading is somewhat slower on an iPad or Kindle 2 than reading a paper book. That didn’t sound quite right to me. Apparently, I wasn’t the only one whom was struck with the apparent inconsistency. This blogger explains why.
fstoppers ran a photo shoot using only an iPhone. It’s cool and is a wonderful demonstration of what can be done with simple equipment.
A new month is arrived. Maybe I’ll have more bookmarks to share; maybe not. Only the passing of another week can tell.
Bookmarklets on iDevices (perhaps the iPride — hat tip to The Oatmeal) is interesting because there is no good mechanic for accomplishing this.
A detailed mechanic for adding Instapaper bookmarklet is documented here. FWIW, I cheated and installed the “read later” Instapaper bookmarklet in Safari on my MBP and then synchronized to my iDevices. :)
As a side note on Delicious, I tried to find a good application for interacting with Delicious on my iDevices. There’s no app for that (no good application, anyway). Go figger…
Pogo Sketch is a capacitive-touch stylus intended for artists using touch screens such as the iPad and iPhone. It works very well.
The NIST and USNO internet time clock is still cool. Geeky… maybe, but cool.
I am looking for a good note-taking application for the iPad. Note Taker HD has promise. The entry price is not too steep, so I might have to download this application and give it a run.
