On walkies a couple of mornings ago, I spotted this young artist working on a mural on the signal vault along our path. It was second time I saw her at this site and she looked to be finishing up. It is good work and I love watching people who are good at what they do.
So we crossed and I introduced myself. Sera took up with Tasha immediately and they are now best buddies. I asked for a photograph and she yes. So I made a handful of captures, but with the Sun in the background. I was concerned about image washout and/or lens flare. But I could not work the sunny with The Girl along — traffic at this intersection at the time of day is bad. So I got what I got.
She gave me a couple of stickers for my kids and that gave me a contact. I pulled the images later in the morning (about noon) and decided that they are OK. I actually like the lens flare and the color balance was easily corrected. So I sent the image to her and asked for another opportunity next time she is doing a project like this. My plan will be to take a film camera, probably the Bronica, and make some more images.
All in all, it was a good walk and great outing. Her energy and enthusiasm gives me hope for future. Life is good.
